Winter Internship Opportunity

Trans Lifeline - Microgrants is a national financial support program of Trans Lifeline. We offer low-barrier grants to trans people seeking to update their legal and government IDs with their correct name and gender markers.

Advocacy Internship

This internship represents an excellent opportunity for people interested in advocacy work. Trans Lifeline is seeking several passionate people to distribute small grants to trans people and learn the ins and outs of how Trans Lifeline operates as an organization. People who are accepted will be placed together in teams to support and remotely work each other at a distance. The Interns will be learning how to navigate our systems. Specifically, they will be working with staff to learn how to contact recipients, figure out what documents need correcting, and get them the information they need around fees and processes. Once interns get recipients to the point of payment, they will be passed off to a staff member.

In addition to their work within Microgrants, each week interns will also have the opportunity to engage with other departments of Trans Lifeline to get a fuller idea of the services our organization offers and how our infrastructure works.

Advocacy Interns will be asked to offer around 5-10 hours a week commitment to Microgrants. There will be team meetings, one-on-one trainings, speakers, educational components and modules to further expand and add context to the work, and processing the applications themselves!
